Become a Sponsor for APK Charities
Throughout the long wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, America’s military and their families have made enormous sacrifices. On March 11, 2013, we suffered the agonizing loss of our son in eastern Afghanistan. Capt. Andrew Pedersen-Keel, 28, was killed in action while serving as detachment commander of his Green Beret Special Forces team. Andrew grew up in Wallingford and Canton/Collinsville and graduated from Avon Old Farms School, Avon, CT in 2002 and the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 2006.
We created the APK Charities Corporation (a Connecticut non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable status applied and pending/Federal Tax ID 46-5456912) and the APK 5K/5K Ruck Walk/March to properly honor and remember the ultimate sacrifice made by our son and to raise awareness and support for our active, retired, wounded and fallen warriors and their families. The APK Charities mission is to provide financial aid and material assistance to charitable organizations and causes.
This year all proceeds of the event will benefit five worthy causes; the APK Direct Assistance Program, an APK Charities Endowment Fund with the Madison and Guilford Foundations, Spike’s K9 Fund and the Special Forces Charitable Trust. These four charities provide much-needed and effective recognition and support for fallen soldiers’ families and wounded soldiers and their families.
We are asking you and/or your company to join us in recognizing and supporting this cause by contributing to the APK 5K fundraising event sponsored by the APK Charities Corporation. This year, the APK 5K is a Virtual 5K Run and a 5K Ruck/Walk during the week of November 1st through November 7th. Our runners will pick their own 5K track. We hope to return to a track of our choice next year when we’ll bring back the Kids Fun Run.
Please download our Sponsorship Form below and join us in supporting fallen and wounded soldiers and their families.
If you can’t become one of our sponsors, donations of any kind are welcome and will help cover the cost of the race while benefiting the aforementioned charities.
Sincerely,
Helen and Bob Pedersen-Keiser
